This annual conference, which was first held in 2002, has become firmly established as an international forum, organised by GTZ, KfW, InWEnt, DSW and IPPF in cooperation with Bayer Schering Pharma and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The conference brings together international and national experts, representatives from United Nations agencies, the German Federal Government, NGOs, academia, industry, public, and religious life.

This year's International Dialogue draws our attention on the nexus between culture, gender, human rights, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. It will take a closer look at the influence which culture has on promoting gender equality and sexual and reproductive rights, and consider existing scope for action on the basis of concrete country experience.
