EuroNGOs Conference and AGM
“The Interface between Population, Environment and Poverty Alleviation”
Possibilities and challenges for SRHR advocacy against the background of ICPD and the MDGs
2-3 October 2008, Lyon, France
On 2nd and 3rd October 2008, the European NGOs for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Population and Development (EuroNGOs) organized a public conference on the Interface between population, environment and poverty alleviation, followed by it's Annual General Meeting. Hosted by EuroNGOs member organisation Equilibres & Populations (E&P), both events took place on 2nd and 3rd October 2008 in Lyon, France.
The largest ever EuroNGOs conference was attended by more than 120 participants from 21 European Countries as well as from Canada, the USA, Kenya, Japan and New Zealand. Representatives from the Family Planning and SRHR constituency as well as from the Environmental sector, gathered together with environmental, development and demographic experts, stakeholders from private European and US-Foundations as well as from UNFPA in order to discuss how to respond to the growing attention to environment and changing global economy.

Open Session AGM
Speaker's Corner
The Speaker's Corner took place Friday, 3rd October 2008, from 15.30h -18.00h.
It provided an informal forum for EuroNGOs members and partners to present special events, campaigns, reports, and initiatives they consider to be interesting for an international SRHR community.
Each speaker “owned” a room at the Mercure Hotel for 45 minutes. Presenters were free to decide on their own on the presentation format as well the time they would like to present – but they had to take in mind to dedicate a good portion of time – at least 15 minutes – to questions and answers from and discussion with the audience.
