European Initiative to boost Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at the World Bank
On 26th May 2010, following funding approval from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the establishment of an independent Advisory Board, the EuroNGOs Secretariat launched a call for proposals for members for a sub-grants initiative, entitled “European Initiative to boost Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at the World Bank”.
The initiative aims to increase and improve World Bank spending on SRHR by conducting advocacy towards strategic leverage points within the World Bank at the global and/or national level. Despite controlling large amounts of aid, the World Bank has long been seen as inaccessible to European NGOs, not least given its geographical distance. This initiative is hoping to change that.
