Sexual Health Switzerland: Online Consultation on the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda

The federal government of Switzerland has invited actors from civil society, academia and business, as well as cantons and communes to participate in an online consultation on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The consultation was open from 26 June until 25 August and covered all 17 SDG’s and 169 targets. It will feed into a baseline assessment conducted by the government investigating Switzerland’s current contribution towards the SDG’s, and identifying what further action is required.  The government announced that the results of the consultation will be used for guidance when drafting the 2018 Swiss country report for the UN.

SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland has participated in the consultation focusing on SRHR related targets. The organisation strongly criticized the weak position on target 3.7 and 5.6 which is not in line with the government’s former commitments for SDG 3 and 5.

Civil society organisations in Switzerland will launch in September at the anniversary of the 2030 agenda a Swiss platform on the implementation of the sustainable development goals.
