UK APPG: Oral evidence sessions from experts on abortion in the UK and the developing world

The UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Population, Development and Reproductive Health (APPG PDRH) will be having oral evidence sessions in November from experts on abortion in the UK and the developing world.

The APPG on PDRH has so far received written evidence on the history of abortion law and legal reform, conscientious objection and the healthcare workforce, abortion services internationally including in warzones, the role of the UK Government, the UN, NGOs and abortion services provisions, abortion in Northern Ireland, and accessibility of abortion services for the hardest to reach populations.

The APPG on PDRH is expecting to hear oral evidence from various stakeholders including the UK Government, legislators, UK and international based NGOs including the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Marie Stopes International, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, Brooks, and the Center for Reproductive Rights, academics from the University of Bristol, the University of Liverpool, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as well as WHO, UNFPA and individual experts and activists. The oral hearings will take place on the 20th, 22nd, 27th and 29th of November.

The public and press are welcome to attend as observers.
